These pages are documentation. They describe how Conversion API behaves, and are provided for information only. Nothing here is a contract or an offer — the service may change as it evolves, and this page is not a commitment that a past description still matches current behaviour.

The service

Conversion API is a hosted service we operate; its source is separately available in the repository, where a licence governs use of the code itself. Using the hosted service is distinct from that licence and not required by it. The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from its use.

What you're responsible for

We operate the infrastructure. As an app owner using the service, you are responsible for:

• Complying with data protection law in the places you operate, including any consent required before processing personal data or sending conversions to an advertising platform.
• The terms of the advertising platforms you connect to — Meta's, TikTok's and Pinterest's business tool terms, including their rules on what may be sent through their conversion APIs.
• Publishing your own privacy policy covering what your apps collect and where it goes.
• Keeping your API key and any credentials you give us confidential, and telling us promptly if one is compromised.

Accuracy

Attribution is best-effort. Exact click-ID matching is reliable when a click ID can be passed through; fingerprint matching is probabilistic and can misattribute, for instance between similar devices sharing one network address. Attribution figures are an estimate and should not be treated as an exact record for billing or accounting purposes.

Meta, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Google, App Store and Google Play are trademarks of their respective owners. Their use here is descriptive and does not imply affiliation with or endorsement by any of them.
